Getting ready to dance upon the mountains
As winter finally comes to an end, The Fairy Photographer is preparing for the first photoshoots of the year
This year, it has felt like winter would never end and our initial Vintage Fairy Photoshoot session was cancelled because of the heavy snow. Feeling much like W. B. Yeats in his poem The Land of Heart’s Desire, The Fairy Photographer team has been longing to escape the grey, wet weather.
“Faeries, come take me out of this dull world,
For I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of the dishevelled tide,
And dance upon the mountains like a flame.”
So, as we start to see the first signs that summer is finally on its way, the team is very happy to be getting everything ready for our first fairy visitors on April 27th and 28th.
A lot of effort goes into the preparation for our fairy photoshoots, as we want all our attendees to have a magical time. All the fairy costumes are created by Caroline. Although they fit in with the vintage theme, using soft, muted shades of dusky pink, warm Cotswold stone and mossy greens, there is a variety of styles and sizes to suit fairies of all ages and preferences
Each headdress is also handmade, using tiny material flowers, leaves and foliage. These too, are all unique and can be matched with different outfits.
The natural beauty of every single one of our fairies shines through in The Fairy Photographer’s photos. We do not feel that our attendees need to wear make-up, however, we do offer a little sparkle to go on cheeks and lips. This does not get picked up by the camera but can often help our fairies to feel a little more magical.
If you know someone who would love to take part in a Vintage Fairy Photoshoot, you can book through the website.
